A Serene Air Boeing 737-800, registration AP-BNA performing flight ER-522 from Karachi to Lahore (Pakistan) with about 180 people on board, was climbing through about FL320 out of Karachi when the crew decided to return to Karachi reporting a problem with the right hand engine (CFM56). The aircraft landed safely back on Karachi's runway 25L about one hour after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Karachi for about 30 hours before returning to service.
