A Skywest Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of United, registration N937EV performing flight UA-5130 from Chicago O'Hare,IL to Rochester,MN (USA), was climbing out of Chicago's runway 10L when the crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet reporting a loud noise from the front of the aircraft, they didn't know what it is, and they requested to return to Chicago but did not declare emergency and advised it would be a normal landing and they would taxi to the gate. The aircraft landed safely back on Chicago's runway 10C about 35 minutes after departure and taxied to the apron.

A replacement CRJ-200 registration N464SW reached Rochster with a delay of 4:45 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 13 hours after landing.
