A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration N8707P performing flight WN-2604 from Fort Lauderdale,FL to New Orleans,LA (USA), landed on New Orlean's runway 02. During the roll out the crew reported the aircraft had gone through a flock of birds on short final, the right hand engine (LEAP) ingested at least one bird. The aircraft slowed safely.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT DURING THE LANDING ROLL, THE PILOT REPORTED HITTING A FLOCK OF BIRDS ON SHORT FINAL. A BIRD WENT THROUGH THE RIGHT ENGINE AND ALSO HIT THE LEADING EDGE TO THE RIGHT WING.", rated the damage minor and the occurrence an incident.

The aircraft is still on the ground in New Orleans about 42 hours after landing.
