A Spirit Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N691NK performing flight NK-728 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Tampa,FL (USA), was on approach to Tampa's runway 01L when the aircraft flew though a flock of birds and received a number of bird strikes (engines V2527). The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 01L.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK BIRDS ON APPROACH DAMAGING COWLING TO ENGINE #1 AND ENGINE #2, TAMPA, FL."

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 16.5 hours, then attempted to depart for flight NK-280 but needed to return to Tampa again.
