A Sunwing Boeing 737-800, registration C-FJVE performing flight
WG-6488 from Montreal,QC (Canada) to Varadero (Cuba) with 194 people on board, was climbing through about 16,500 feet out of Montreal when the altitude indications on the autopilot mode control panel as well as at the primary flight display froze. The crew declared PAN PAN and decided to return to Montreal, where the aircraft landed safely about 30 minutes after departure.
The Canadian TSB reported the autopilot mode control panel was replaced.
