A TAAG Angola Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration D2-TBJ performing flight DT-579 from Luanda (Angola) to Cape Town (South Africa), landed on Cape Town's runway 19 but became disabled on the runway due to a hydraulic leak. The runway needed to be closed.

Although the aircraft was towed off the runway, the runway needed to remain closed over night for about 15 hours for cleaning.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Cape Town about 29 hours after landing.
