A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A330-200, registration CS-TON performing flight TP-225 from Lisbon (Portugal) to Miami,FL (USA), was cleared for takeoff from runway 20 when the crew released the brakes and accelerated the engines shortly followed by the right hand engine (CF6) suffering a compressor stall at low speed. The crew restored directional control and stopped the aircraft on the runway.

A replacement Airbus A330-900 registration CS-TUC reached Miami with a delay of about 6 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 26 hours after the rejected takeoff.
