A THY Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration TC-JVF performing flight TK-269 from Istanbul (Turkey) to Chisinau (Moldova), was on final approach to Chisinau's runway 09 when the crew aborted the approach and initiated a go around at about 2600 feet due to a flaps indication. The aircraft entered a hold to work the checklists, declared emergency and proceeded for a safe landing on runway 09 at a higher than normal speed (about 175 knots over ground).

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight with a delay of about 2:40 hours, remained in Istanbul over night and returned to service about 18 hours after landing in Istanbul.
