A THY Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration TC-JJG performing flight TK-11 from Istanbul (Turkey) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was enroute at FL340 about 300nm east of Keflavik (Iceland) and about 660nm west of Oslo (Norway) when the crew turned around and decided to divert to Oslo. The aircraft descended to FL230, dumped fuel and landed safely on runway 19R about 110 minutes later.

The airline reported a technical problem.

Passengers reported the aircraft dumped fuel on the way to Oslo.

Turkish media report a problem with the right hand engine (GE90).

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration TC-JJZ positioned to Oslo, continued the flight and reached New York with a delay of about 13:45 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Oslo about 44 hours after landing.
