A Tway Air Boeing 737-800, registration HL8047 performing flight TW-216 from Tokyo (Japan) to Seoul (South Korea) with 122 people on board, was on final approach to Seoul's runway 34L when the right hand engine (CFM56) ingested a number of birds and suffered a series of compressor stalls emitting bangs and streaks of flame. The crew initiated a go around from about 300 feet AGL, climbed back to 3000 feet and landed safely on runway 34R about 12 minutes later.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Seoul about 29 hours after landing.
