An USY Universal Sky Carrier Airbus A340-600 on behalf of Surinam Airways, registration D-AUSZ performing flight PY-993 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Paramaribo (Suriname), was climbing out of Amsterdam's runway 36C when the crew stopped the climb at FL060 and entered a hold advising ATC they would not "upload" the landing gear, the gear was still down and locked. The aircraft returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 06 about 30 minutes after departure.

A replacement Air Europa Boeing 787-8, registration EC-NXA, reached Paramaribo with a delay of about 31 hours.
