A UTAir Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration VQ-BLJ performing flight
UT-135 from Sochi to Astrakhan (Russia) with 66 people on board, was enroute at FL160 about 20nm northeast of Sochi when the crew received indication of low oil pressure for the left hand engine (PW127) and decided to return to Sochi. The aircraft landed safely back in Sochi about 30 minutes later.
A replacement ATR-72-212A registration VQ-BMA reached Astrakhan with a delay of about 6 hours.
The occurrence aircraft had suffered the same problem about 8 hours earlier, see Incident: UTAir AT72 at Sochi on Jul 1st 2021, rejected takeoff due to low engine oil pressure.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 18 hours this time, then returned to service and was able to complete the flight.
