A UTAir Boeing 737-800, registration VQ-BDH performing flight UT-390 from Kaliningrad to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia), was on approach to Vnukovo's runway 01 when the crew went around from about 2500 feet MSL due to the flaps not extending. The aircraft went around and entered a hold at 4000 feet MSL while the crew was working the checklists. Using the alternate system the crew managed to deploy the flaps to 5 degrees, then positioned for an approach to runway 06 and landed safely at a higher speed than normal (about 160 knots over ground) about 35 minutes after the go around.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Moscow about 5 hours after landing.
