A Volaris Airbus A320-200N, registration XA-VRU performing flight Y4-3142 from Tijuana to Oaxaca (Mexico), was enroute at FL370 about 470nm southeast of Tijuana about one hour into the flight when the crew decided to return to Tijuana. The aircraft landed safely in Tijuana about 2:35 hours after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Tijuana until Mar 31st 2025.

Mexico's AIB opened an investigation into the occurrence rated an incident stating, that the maintenance department informed the crew, that an urgent ADEM report (Advanced Diagnostic and Engine Maintenance) required the return to Tijuana. The aircraft is equipped with PW1127G engines.
