A Volaris Airbus A320-200, registration XA-VVA performing flight Y4-1400 from Guadalajara to Tulum (Mexico), landed on Tulum's runway 12 when the crew noticed a strange orientation of the nose gear while automatic brakes engaged.

Mexico's AIB reported the compass bolt was broken, rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation.

The aircraft remained on the ground until Jun 7th 2025 before returning to service.
