A Volotea Airbus A319-100, registration EC-MTD performing flight
V7-2794 from Rodez to Paris Orly (France), was cleared for the ILS approach runway 25, however, did not get established and went around at about 2200 feet MSL. The aircraft positioned for another approach to runway 25 and landed safely about 20 minutes after the go around.
The French BEA reported, the ILS had not been activated after the runway had been commissioned, when the aircraft was cleared for the ILS approach to runway 15. The crew aligned with the runway centerline themselves and initiated their final descent, when a Minimum Altitude Safety Warning activated at the controller's desk. The controller informed the crew who replied they had already aborted their approach. The occurrence was rated an incident and is being investigated.
ADS-B data suggest the aircraft was to the right of the runway center line during the first approach and remained high on the approach.
