When can you claim?
Under EU Regulation 261/2004 you can usually claim when your flight left from an EU airport, or landed in the EU on an EU airline, and you reached your destination 3 hours or more late, your flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, or you were denied boarding because it was overbooked. The amount depends on the flight distance:

Extraordinary circumstances such as bad weather or air traffic control strikes are not covered. Similar rules apply in the UK and some other countries.
