An Air Canada Rouge Airbus A320-200, registration C-GFCH performing flight RV-1702/AC-1702 from Las Vegas,NV (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 163 people on board, was taxiing out when fumes were noticed in the cabin. The aircraft departed, the fumes persisted throughout the climb and affected both crew and passengers. The flight crew donned their oxygen masks, stopped the climb at about FL310 and decided to return to Las Vegas, where the aircraft landed on runway 26L about 90 minutes after departure.
The Canadian TSB reported the crew donned their oxygen masks and declared PAN PAN. The aircraft landed overweight.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Las Vegas until Nov 21st 2025, positioned to Toronto and resumed service the following day.
