GB-956 from Brussels (Belgium) to Cincinnati,KY (USA) with 3 crew, was enroute at FL280 over the Atlantic Ocean about 460nm east of Goose Bay,NL (Canada) when the crew observed two lights (B6 and B8) at the cargo fire panel illuminate, worked the related checklist and consulted with maintenance, who explain the indication meant failed fire sensors. The crew decided to divert to Goose Bay as a precaution, declared PAN PAN and landed without further incident.
The Canadian TSB reported emergency services found no evidence of a combustion, however, several airfreight unit loads had to be removed to facilitate inspection with thermal imaging. Maintenance replaced the faulty B6 and B8 fire sensors.
