An Allegiant Airbus A320-200, registration N216NV performing flight
G4-531 from Fort Lauderdale,FL to Concord,NC (USA), was climbing out of Fort Lauderdale's runway 28R when a bird impacted the aircraft's nose. In the absence of abnormal indications the crew initially continued the flight climbing the aircraft to 17000 feet, but then stopped the climb and decided to divert to Orlando Sanford,FL (USA). The aircraft landed safely on Sanford's runway 27R about 40 minutes after departure.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Sanford for about 5.5 hours, then continued the flight and reached Concord with a delay of 5.5 hours.
