An American Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N801AW performing flight AA-2872 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Fort Walton Beach,FL (USA), was on short final to Fort Walton Beach's runway 20 when the aircraft went around from low height (about 350 feet AGL) about 1.3nm before the runway threshold, positioned for another approach to runway 12 but again needed to go around from low height (about 400 feet AGL) about 1.2nm before the runway threshold. The aircraft entered a hold, the crew subsequently decided to divert to Atlanta,GA (USA) where the aircraft landed safely about 75 minutes after the first go around.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT ON A GO-AROUND AND PASSENGER INJURYED THEIR LEG, ATLANTA, GA."
