An American Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration N339SU performing flight AA-1427 from Saint Vincent (Saint Vincent and Grenadines) to Miami,FL (USA), was accelerating for takeoff from Saint Vincent Argyle Airport's runway 22 when a flock of birds flew up and a number of bird strikes occurred. The crew rejected takeoff at high speed and were able to stop the aircraft before the end of the runway.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N929NN reached Miami with a delay of 28 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Saint Vincent.
