An American Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N752AN performing flight AA-5 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Honolulu,HI (USA), was enroute at FL360 about 300nm northnortheast of Los Angeles,CA (USA) when the crew reported the first officer's windshield cracked. The aircraft initally maintained FL360, then descended to FL200 and diverted to Los Angeles for a safe landing on runway 25R about 40 minutes after leaving FL360.

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration N725AN reached Honolulu with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in LAX about 21 hours after landing.
