An American Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N758AN performing flight
AA-717 from Munich (Germany) to Charlotte,NC (USA), was enroute at FL370 about 790nm northeast of Montreal,QC (Canada) when the crew initiated a descent to 16,000 feet due to an indication regarding the left hand engine's (Trent 892) oil system. The crew declared PAN PAN and decided to divert to Montreal where the aircraft landed safely on runway 24L about 2:20 hours after leaving FL370.
The Canadian TSB requested further information from the operator.
