An American Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration N728AN performing flight
AA-135 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Los Angeles,CA (USA), was enroute at FL320 over Ireland about 90nm north of Shannon (Ireland) when the crew decided to return to London due to problems with the toilets. The aircraft landed safely back in London about 110 minutes after departure.
A passenger reported the aircraft departed with a delay of about one hour after maintenance had been working on malfunctioning toilets. Maintenance managed to get the toilets into a working state, the aircraft departed. However, about 50 minutes into the flight the toilets became inoperative again prompting the return to London. The aircraft was repaired over night and departed as flight
AA-135P the following day.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 17 hours, then departed as flight
AA-135P and reached Los Angeles with about 20.5 hours delay.
