An Anadolujet Boeing 737-800 on behalf of THY Turkish Airlines, registration TC-JFJ performing TK-7319 from Malatya to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (Turkey), was on approach to Sabiha Gokcen Airport's runway 06 when the aircraft flew through a flock of birds and received several impacts on the nose cone and the leading edge of the right hand wing. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 06.
The radome suffered a a number of penetrations, the wing received blood staines.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 7.5 hours, then returned to service.
