An Austrian Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration OE-LZD performing flight
OS-174 from Hamburg (Germany) to Vienna (Austria), was climbing out of Hamburg's runway 33 when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet due to a bird strike. The aircraft returned to Hamburg for a safe landing on runway 05 about 45 minutes after departure.
The airline reported the aircraft returned as a precaution following a bird strike. The aircraft is currently being assessed. The passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Hamburg about 27 hours after landing.
