An Avianca Airbus A320-200, registration N992AV performing flight
AV-257 from Cancun (Mexico) to Bogota (Colombia) with 108 passengers, was enroute at FL370 about 20nm north of San Andres Island (Colombia) when the crew decided to divert to San Andres reporting a hydraulic problem disabling their nose wheel steering. The aircraft landed safely on San Andres' runway 06 about 30 minutes later (gear doors were closed), stopped on the runway and needed to be towed to the apron.
Colombia's Aeronautica Civil reported the aircraft diverted to San Andres due to a hydraulic problem.
The airline reported the aircraft diverted as a precaution due to an alert by one of the aircraft systems, emergency was never declared. The passengers were taken to Bogota by another aircraft about two hours after landing.
