An Azul Linhas Aereas Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration PR-AKJ performing flight AD-4442 from Montes Claros,MG to Porto Seguro,BA (Brazil) with 41 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing out of Montes Claros when the crew stopped the climb at about 10,000 feet and returned to Montes Claros due to a fault with the right hand engine's (PW127M) generator. The aircraft landed safely back about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement ATR-72-212A registration PR-TKI reached Porto Seguro with a delay of about 2.5 hours.

Brazil's CENIPA reported the crew received a "ENG #2 GEN FAULT X SEVERAL" indication. The aircraft landed safely back. The occurrence was rated an incident.
