An Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer ERJ-195, registration PR-AXG performing flight
AD-6050 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP to Brasilia,DF (Brazil), was enroute at FL290 near Rio de Janeiro,RJ (Brazil) when the cabin pressure was lost prompting the crew to initiate an emergency descent. The passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft diverted to Rio de Janeiro's Santos Dumont Airport for a safe landing.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 11 hours, then positioned to Sao Paulo Viracopos,SP (Brazil) and returned to service the following morning.
