A British Airways Airbus A319-100, registration G-EUPM performing flight
BA-797 from Porto (Portugal) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was on final approach to Heathrow's runway 09L when the crew detected an unsual odour on the flight deck, donned their oxygen masks and declared Mayday. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 09L.
The aircraft returned to service about 57 hours after landing.
The AAIB reported they opened an investigation into the occurrence rated a serious incident.
