A British Airways Airbus A380-800, registration G-XLEF performing flight
BA-462 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Madrid,SP (Spain), was on approach to Madrid's runway 32L when a bird impacted the aircraft's inboard left engine's (#2, Trent 970) inlet and was ingested by the engine. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 32L.
The aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight and is still on the ground at Madrid's Barajas Airport about 13 hours after landing.
The return flight was cancelled.
