A British Airways Airbus A380-800, registration G-XLEK performing flight BA-293 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Washington Dulles,DC (USA), was enroute nearing the end of the flight when a continuous waterfall developed on board pouring from the upper deck into the lower deck. The flight crew continued the flight for a safe landing in Washington while cabin crew were trying to control the water and mopped the floors. The aircraft landed safely on Washington's runway 01R.

The airline reported a faulty valve at the clean water supply was fixed upon arrival in the USA.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Washington for about 5:20 hours, then departed for the return flight BA-292 with a delay of about 4 hours.
