A China Cargo Airlines Boeing 777-200 freighter, registration B-220F performing flight CK-232 from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Shanghai (China) with 12 crew on board, was climbing out of JFK's runway 22R when the crew reported a bird strike (in relatively poor English, the controller did not react and continued radar vectors for the departure), the crew subsequently declared PAN PAN reporting they had suffered a bird strike and lost the right hand engine (GE90) due to the bird strike and needed to level off at 5000 feet. The controller requested information about the nature of their condition, the crew reported again - in the third attempt the controller understood their report and requested to confirm the crew had lost their right hand engine and subsequently that the right hand engine was no longer running. The aircraft dumped fuel for about 30 minutes and landed back on New York's runway 31L about one hour after departure.

The aircraft is still in New York about 44 hours after landing back.
