Yesterday we began with the implementation for a new ad server and for that had to disable our well trusted very own consent manager in favour of a new one that is compatible with international interfaces. We did so by installing the new consent manager using the default settings, which I thought would be most appropriate and usable for a fresh installation of that manager.
By the reader comments and other reactions in mail I received it became clear that the default settings were a very poor choice, and I apologize for that.
I have now tweaked the settings to make the consent manager less aggressive in case of consent rejected and also slightly less aggressive if consent is neither granted nor rejected. I shall be monitoring and tweaking further if it turns out to be necessary.
