A CSA Czech Airlines Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration OK-NFU performing flight OK-7201 from Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) to Billund (Denmark), was enroute at FL220 about 190nm south of Billund in German Airspace near Hamburg (Germany), when the captain's windshield cracked. The crew descended the aircraft to FL100 and continued to Billund for a safe landing on Billund's runway 27 about one hour after leaving FL220.

Czechia's UZPLN reported the aircraft was examined by maintenance in Billund and released for a ferry flight under minimum equipment list requirements. The aircraft thus flew to Prague (Czech Republic) maintaining a maximum FL100. In Prague the windshield was replaced and a pressurization check conducted before the aircraft was returned to service.
