A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-900, registration N408DX performing positioning flight DL-9770 from Seattle,WA (USA) to Seoul (South Korea) with 13 crew, was climbing out of Seattle when the crew received an "ENG 2 BLEED STATUS FAULT" ECAM message (engine Trent 7000) and worked the related checklist, the indication persisted. The crew contacted dispatch and maintenance, who recommended to perform a computer reset after reaching cruise level. Before reaching cruise level the crew received another ECAM message "ENG 2 CTL SYS FAULT" plus additional secondary faults. The crew completed the checklist items and realized the checklist required the engine to be shut down for approach and landing. The crew decided to return to Seattle. While descending through 5000 feet on approach to Seattle the crew shut the engine down and continued for a landing without further incident.
The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found a loose B-nut on the PS26 moisture trap. The nut was torqued, engine runs performed and an overweight landing inspection completed.
