A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-900, registration N413DX performing flight
DL-113 from Rome Fiumicino (Italy) to Boston,MA (USA) with 294 people on board, was enroute at FL360 over the Atlantic Ocean about 160nm south of Shannon (Ireland) when the crew declared PAN PAN and decided to divert to Shannon reporting they had fumes on board. The aircraft landed safely on Shannon's runway 06 about 30 minutes later, vacated the runway and taxied to a remote stand, where a rapid disembarkation via mobile stairs commenced. Paramedics examined one passenger who reported feeling unwell.
The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Shannon about 6 hours after landing and is estimated to position to Boston after about 27 hours after landing.
