A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N821DX performing flight
DL-653 from Atlanta,GA to Santa Ana,CA (USA), was on approach to Santa Ana when the crew stopped the descent at 8000 feet due to a problem with the flaps. The aircraft diverted to Los Angeles,CA (USA) where the aircraft landed on runway 25L at a higher speed than normal (about 170 knots over ground) but safely about 30 minutes after stopping the descent into Santa Ana.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 13 hours, then positioned to Santa Ana and resumed service.
