An Eastern Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N700KW performing flight 2D-3073 from San Antonio,TX to Santa Maria,CA (USA), landed on Santa Maria's runway 12 and slowed safely. At the end of the runway the aircraft performed a turn around to backtrack the runway to the apron, however, the right hand main gear went off the runway, hit a runway light and a taxi sign and became stuck in soft ground.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT LANDED, MADE A 180 TURN TO BACKTAXI AND RIGHT MAIN BECAME STUCK IN THE MUD AND HIT A TAXIWAY SIGN AND LIGHT, SANTA MARIA, CA." and stated the damage was "UNKNOWN", the occurrence was rated an incident.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Santa Maria on Jun 13th 2023.
