An Envoy Embraer ERJ-135 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N831AE performing flight
AA-3796 from Champaign,IL to Charlotte,NC (USA), was descending towards Charlotte maintaining FL100 when the aircraft was vectored around weather but encountered severe turbulence nonetheless. The aircraft continued for a safe landing in Charlotte about 30 minutes later. One passenger received minor injuries as result of the turbulence.
