A Fedex Federal Express Airbus A300-600, registration N661FE performing freight flight FX-241 from Calgary,AB (Canada) to Memphis,TN (USA), was descending towards Memphis when the crew declared emergency reporting they had received an avionics smoke indication, the crew added it might be nothing, but they'd just take it and get down as quickly as possible. The aircraft landed safely on Memphis' runway 36L about 10 minutes later.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Memphis for 26 hours, then resumed service.
