An Air France Boeing 787-9, registration F-HRBA performing flight
AF-864 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Cape Town (South Africa), was climbing out of Paris when the aircraft experienced hydraulic problems prompting the crew to stop the climb at FL220 about 130nm south of Paris and return to Paris, where the aircraft landed safely on Charles de Gaulle's runway 26R about 80 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 787-9 registration F-HRBF departed Paris about 11 hours after F-HRBA had landed back and reached Cape Town with a delay of 12:20 hours.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Paris for about 30 hours, then departed for its next flight but needed to return to Paris again, see Incident: France B789 near Paris on Feb 11th 2023, hydraulic problems.
