An Air India Boeing 787-8, registration VT-ANR performing flight AI-333 from Bangkok (Thailand) to Delhi (India), was climbing out of Bangkok's runway 19R when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet due to a slat malfunction. After working the related checklists the crew decided to return to Bangkok and landed safely on runway 19R at a higher speed than normal (180 knots over ground).

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3.5 hours, then departed again and reached Delhi with a delay of about 4.5 hours.
