An Indigo Airbus A321-200N, registration VT-IMG performing flight 6E-6183 from Kolkata to Delhi (India), was on final approach to Delhi's runway 27 when the crew felt they were floating over the runway and initiated a go around. While rotating for the go around the tail of the aircraft contacted the runway surface. The aircraft climbed to 6000 feet, positioned for another approach and landed on runway 27 without further incident about 15 minutes later. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage however.

India's DGCA opened an investigation into the occurrence stating the aircraft was floating along the runway when the crew initiated a go around, the aircraft suffered a tail strike.

The airline confirmed the aircraft suffered a tail strike.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Delhi about 53 hours after landing.
