An Air Inuit Boeing 737-200, registration C-GAIG performing flight 3H-764 from Montreal,QC to Grande Riviere,QC (Canada) with 27 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Montreal's runway 06R when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet, declared emergency reporting unreliable airspeed and returned to Montreal for a safe landing on runway 06R about 40 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported a visual inspection revealed a torn part of the pitot cover blocked the pitot tube.

The aircraft departed again after about 2 hours on the ground and reached Grande Riviera with a delay of about 2:40 hours.
