An ITA Transportes Aereos Airbus A320-200, registration PS-TCS performing flight 8I-5610 from Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ to Brasilia,DF (Brazil) with 116 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Rio de Janeiro when the crew stopped the climb at FL180 due to a hydraulic fault and decided to return to Rio for a safe landing on Galeao's runway 15 about 25 minutes after departure.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Rio for about 48 hours before returning to service.
