A Jota Aviation Avro RJ-85, registration G-JOTR performing flight ENZ-278 from Manchester,EN to London City,EN (UK) with the soccer team of Manchester City on board, was on approach to London when the crew decided to divert to London Stansted due to a problem with the anti-skid system of the aircraft brakes, which required a longer runway than London City's runway. The aircraft landed safey on Stansted's runway 22.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 22 hours, then departed for Manchester as flight ENZ-279.
Manchester City was to play at London's West Ham United, the match ended 1-1.
