A KLM Boeing 777-200, registration PH-BQE performing flight
KL-702 from Buenos Aires Ezeiza,BA (Argentina) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was enroute at FL370 about 270nm southwest of Praia (Cape Verde) when the transponder stopped transmitting altitude information. ATC confirmed that neither Mode-S nor Mode-C continued to transmit any altitude information, all other Mode-S and ADS-B information continued to be transmitted. The aircraft was able to continue to Amsterdam where the aircraft landed safely on runway 18R about 6 hours later around 05:00L.
