A LATAM Chile Boeing 767-300 on behalf of LATAM Peru, registration CC-CWV performing flight LP-9959 from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Lima (Peru), was enroute at FL410 about 100nm south of Salina Cruz (Mexico) when an engine (CF6) failed prompting the crew to divert to Mexico City. The aircraft landed safely on Mexico City's runway 05R about 20 minutes after leaving FL410.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Mexico City about 13 hours after landing.
